Internal combustion engines (IC engines) are the best available technology for extracting vapors from soil. Remediation Services International (RSI) manufactures IC engine packages for this purpose by incorporating their specialized carburetion and control technology.

- No supplemental electrical power is required, allowing operation in rural areas where no grid power exists.
- Much lower supplemental fuel (propane) required for operation compared to thermal oxidizers thereby reducing cost
